A STAND DEDICATED TO HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES (The 16th edition of the book fair - Casablanca, from February 12th to February 21st, 2010)
The Advisory Council on Human Rights (CCDH) participates in the 16th annual International Book and Publication Fair (SIEL), to be held from February 12th to February 21st, 2010, in Casablanca, for the fourth consecutive year, with a stand dedicated to "human rights issues".The Council suggests a rich and varied program during the fair in order to inform the public of the various achievements in the field of human rights both at the management level and intellectual production and open a debate between the different stakeholders concerned by these issues: roundtables and presentation of books and publications on human rights in presence of experts in the areas of human rights, civil society activists, intellectuals and writers.
In addition to a permanent exhibition of books and publications on the issues of immigration, CCDH publications and the publications of the Centre of Documentation and Information on Human Rights (CDIFDH), the program will also include two meetings on "the National Action Plan on Democracy and Human Rights" and "the Citizenship Platform for the Promotion of Human Rights Culture", in presence of members of the steering committee and members of following up committee, and a series of awareness workshops in the field of human rights in favor of youth and children.
Shall also be scheduled in the program, the presentation and interpretation of three books on transitional justice, namely, "Crimes we can neither punish nor forgive: for international justice" (Des crimes qu’on ne peut ni punir ni pardonner : pour une justice international), by Antoine Garapon, "Judging war, judging history: good use of truth commissions and international justice" (Juger la guerre, juger l’histoire : Du bon usage des commissions Vérité et de la justice international), by Pierre Hazan, and "Justice without punishment: truth and reconciliation commissions” (Justice sans châtiment : les commissions vérité et réconciliation), by Etienne Jaudel, in presence of Antoine Garapon and Pierre Hazan.
