“Memory, History and Archives”

As part of the follow-up of recommendations of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission (IER) relating to the preservation of the history of archives and memory and in order to establish a program of support by the European Union for these recommendations, the Advisory Council on Human Rights (CCDH) organized a third seminar, on July 3, 2009, under the theme “Memory, History and Archives”. The organization of this seminar followed two previous meetings on “teaching the history of the current time” and “preservation and modernization of national archives”.

Ms. Warzazi Elected Chairperson of UN Human Rights Council Advisory Committee

Mrs. Halima Embarek Warzazi, member of the Moroccan Advisory Council on Human Rights (CCDH), has been elected by acclamation chairperson of the UN Human Rights Council Advisory Committee at the opening of the third session of this Committee in Geneva, from August 3-6, 2009.

Community Reparation: 900 Children in the “Eyes to the Future” Camp

As part of the community reparation program and in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Organization for Camps, the Entraide Nationale and the Agency for the development of the eastern region, the Advisory Council on Human Rights (CCDH) organized the second edition of the “Eyes to the Future” Camp in Mehdia, north of Rabat.

CCDH Holds its 33 Ordinary Session

The Advisory Council on Human Rights (CCDH) held on July 11, 2009, at its headquarters in Rabat, its 33rd ordinary session, devoted to the discussion of the report on the follow-up of the implementation of the recommendations of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission (IER) and the study on the harmonization of the draft penal code and the draft citizenship charter.

Beneficiaries of Pilot Project on Strengthening Leadership of NGOs in Zagora

The President of the Advisory Council on Human Rights (CCDH), Mr. Ahemd Herzenni, received on July 10, 2009 at the CCDH headquarters, the beneficiaries of the pilot project on strengthening leadership of NGOs in the region of Zagora. The project, implemented by RAZDED, a network of associations in Zagora for democracy and development, target organizations working on issues of women's rights in Zagora, a region covered by the community reparation program.
